The former Reliant Medical Group building at 139 Gold Star Boulevard in Worcester has sold for $2.5 million.

The property was sold to K&L Worcester LLC, a Worcester realty company, and the sale was closed on Wednesday afternoon.

“It was a pleasure to work with Kelleher & Sadowsky on this transaction. We are excited about working in Worcester again, our planned improvements, and the revival of this great building,” said K & L principal George Tonna in a released statement on Thursday.

The 57,000 sq. foot office building was the home of Reliant Medical for nearly 30 years. The building was originally built for Sawyer’s Lumber.

According to K&L, the building will be completely renovated inside and out for office use with a brand new design that will promote an environment of innovation and growth.

The redesign will be overseen by Maugel Architects of Harvard, MA, who will serve as project supervisor.

The property also includes a 7,000 sq. ft. building behind the main building that will offer a unique opportunity after renovations are completed.

The front of the building faces south towards its neighbors at Crown Bakery and DCU.

K&L Realty LLC of Worcester, and its subsidiaries, own, develop, and manage office properties in Greater Boston, Metrowest and Worcester. Their main office is located at 2 Foster St. in downtown Worcester.
