Worcester Developer Buys Former Walgreens Site In Shrewsbury For $1M

Chacharone Properties of Worcester has purchased 557 Main St., the former site of a Walgreens Pharmacy in Shrewsbury for $970,000.

The deal closed on Friday, according to the Worcester District Registry of Deeds. The seller was Hale Associates, Inc. of Standish, Maine.

The building contains 3,636 square feet of rentable space and 1,800 square feet of basement space for storage, according to Worcester’s Kelleher & Sadowsky Associates, Inc., whose Meghan Liddy and Todd Alexander represented the seller and procured the buyer.

The property is assessed by the Town of Shrewsbury for $559,700.

Chacharone Properties was founded in 1982 and owns industrial, commercial, retail, and medical properties throughout Worcester County.
