KARL STORZ Endoscopy-America, a medical technology manufacturer based in California, signed a new lease expanding from 140,000 square feet of space to 225,629 square feet at its 28 Millbury St. facility in Auburn.
The company has been at the location for five years before signing this new ten-year lease, according to a Tuesday press release from Worcester brokerage Kelleher & Sadowsky Associates.
KARL STORZ Endoscopy-America’s parent company, KARL STORZ SE & Co. KG, is headquartered in Germany and employs more than 8,500 people worldwide. The firm employs 560 people in Central Massachusetts including KARL STORZ Endoscopy-America’s Auburn location and KARL STORZ Endovision in Charlton, according to data submitted to the WBJ Research Department by those firms.
The two-story 453,424-square-foot building is fully leased, according to the press release. President James Umphrey and Vice President Thomas Bodden of Kelleher & Sadowsky completed the transaction on behalf of New York real estate giant Rabina, who owns the facility and a neighboring warehouse leased by Home Depot.
